What Is Plan To Be Prepared?
The pandemic of 2020 is just the latest event that should engrain in all of us the value of planning to be prepared. Waiting in line for toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and masks, coupled with the government-mandated shutdown of businesses and skyrocketing unemployment is still fresh in our minds. But our collective memories are short. We had gas lines in the 1970s, an attack on our own soil in 2001, a financial crisis in 2008, and the current supply shortages that range from lumber to computer chips. We also regularly see winter storms, hurricanes, wildfires, and a multitude of other natural disasters. We lose power, have contaminated water sources, cars breakdown, injuries at the home, school closings (kids unexpectedly at home). Certainly, some of these items have longer-lasting effects, but the point being is that unexpected occurrences need to be expected.
What are the plans that we can put in place to be prepared when these things occur? The mission of PlanToBePrepared is to inspire and educate all people to be self-reliant.
